Description
Solar shield yellow filters are specifically designed for low vision patients. Eschenbach and Dioptics Medical Products have teamed up to create a range of contrast-enhancing filters, ensuring maximum visibility and comfort for the user. Their Solar Shield® filters come in five tint options, including gray, yellow, amber, orange, and the new plum tint, allowing for personalization based on individual needs and preferences.
When it comes to frame size, Solar Shield® yellow filters cater to a variety of preferences with options in three different sizes: Small, Medium (Oval), and Large. The small frames are particularly suitable for patients with smaller eyewear or those who do not require corrective lenses. On the other hand, medium and large frames are designed to comfortably fit over standard eyewear.
The large frames, replacing the Aviator style, are intended for prescription frames with dimensions not exceeding 6 inches wide by 2 inches high (153mm x 49mm). Equipped with amber polycarbonate lenses, these large frames provide essential blue light filtering while enhancing contrast and visual acuity. They block 100% of UVA/UVB light and 100% of visible light up to 511 nm.
For medium oval frames, they accommodate prescription frames not exceeding 5 3/8 inches wide by 2 3/8 inches high (138mm x 59mm). The polycarbonate lenses in these medium frames employ an orange tint, effectively reducing blue light exposure while enhancing contrast and improving visual clarity, with the same level of UVA/UVB and visible light blockage as the large frames.
Small frames, replacing the Cateye style, are designed for prescription glasses that do not exceed 5 1/2 inches wide by 1 5/8 inches high (142mm x 42mm). Like the other sizes, these frames utilize amber polycarbonate lenses for optimal blue light filtering, enhancing contrast to aid in visual acuity and providing protection against harmful UV light. The Solar Shield® yellow filters are a go-to solution for low vision patients looking for effective eyewear options.
