3x doesn't sound very powerful, but when it truly is 3x---as this PowerMag is---it is plenty strong. The light is strong, too. Magnified words are clear. And the battery cover stays where it belongs. Quit wasting your time and money on cheaper units from Amazon that claim to be 5x or higher and are simply not so. I chose non-expedited shipping but The Low Vision Store still got it to me in 2 business days.

I have 2 other tablets w/bold lines love them. My tablet that is yelling works very well for low vision the white page seems yo blur @ tikes. I find writing in red or green ink works better. Now I a m looking for Large print books bu find them rather pricey so I will go to the library to look. I also try to get a darker background on my phone as a white background blurs @ tims. Iove the tablets

Nice positive on/ off switch. Simple and easy battery change. LED light is bright, reliable and constant. 3 AAA batteries makes for long, bright life. Unit is rather large, and that is just right for my use.
